Scholarship of MOE For Students From Low-income Family to Study Abroad

Announcement:
I. Application date: From now until February 20, 110 (Sat).

II. Application Location: Office in College of Liberal Arts.

III. Qualifications for Application: Students who meet the following criteria.
  (1) Students who have passed the selection of exchange students and are expected to go abroad for
     one semester or one academic year in the academic year 2021.
  (2) Students who have R.O.C. nationality and have a household registration in Taiwan.
  (3) Students who hold a low-income/low-middle-income household or a subsidy related to
     low-middle income as determined by the competent authorities in each municipality or
     county (city)(Students with a certificate of Certificate in Poverty and Inequality or
     those who expect to apply for a certificate of low-income/low-middle-income are
     not eligible to apply.).
  (4) Admission of schools that are not located in mainland China, Hong Kong or Macau.

IV. The priority of the recommendation.
  (1) School-level exchange students with valid proof of low-income status.
  (2) College-level exchange students with valid proof of low-income status.
  (3) School-level exchange students with valid proof of low-middle-income status.
  (4) Departmental exchange students with a valid certificate of low-middle-income status.

V. Quota for the Scholarship: approved by the Ministry of Education.

VI. Amount of the Scholarship: Approved by the Ministry of Education.

VII. Documents for Application .
  (1) Student's profile form.
  (2) A copy of the account book opened by the government agency (marked with "matches
    the original" and signed by applicants themselves).
  (3) Certificate of low-income/low-middle-income households or related subsidies for
    low- middle-income households issued by government agencies after January 1, 110.
  (4) A study plan of approximately 1,000 to 1,500 words (including personal biography,
    objectives and plans for studying abroad, estimation of the relevance between the
    programs studying abroad and current learning, and future outlook).
  (5) The motivation, intention, and vision of the study abroad program.
  (6) Chinese transcripts from the university (graduate students must submit Chinese
     transcripts from the graduated university).
  (7) Proof of foreign language proficiency.
  (8) Proof of outstanding personal performance (exempted if none).

VIII. Scholarship Regulations
  (1) Students who have received a scholarship under the this program are not allowed to
    receive any other scholarship from the government of Taiwan.
  (2) Each student may apply for more than one scholarship to study abroad at the same time,
     but only one scholarship may be received.
  (3) Priority of scholarships:
    1. Scholarship of MOE For Students From Low-income Family to Study Abroad
    2. Acceptance of school scholarships
    3. Scholarships for limited countries, regions, and fields
    4. Scholarships for exchange students from NTU

IX. Obligations of the Awarded Students.
  (1) The awardee and his/her guarantor must sign an administrative contract with the University
     one month before going abroad, and should abide by the contract; if they do not sign the
    contract, they cannot receive the money.
  (2) Within two weeks after the end of the program period, the awarded student must submit a
    questionnaire and a report in Chinese/English of less than 1,000 words to the website for
     this program and provide official course records/transcripts and other documents for
     verification. If those mentioned above are not submitted, the scholarship should be
     returned to the University within three months after the end of the exchange period.
  (3) During the study period at the admitted school, the scholarship recipient must participate
     in the overseas education exhibition held by the university to actively promote the school
     and its various student exchange programs.
  (4) If an awardee student withdraws from the program, drops out of school, does not return to
     Taiwan to complete his or her studies, or returns to Taiwan earlier than they are expected,
     the scholarship should be returned to the University within two months of the termination
     of the exchange period.
  (5) If the student does not receive permission to enter the university or fails to enter the university
     on time, the scholarship admission status will be cancelled and cannot be retained.

X. In case of natural disasters, war, strikes, unrest, epidemics, and other force majeure or non-accountable
  reasons, the Office of International Affairs has the right to deal with the situation in case of failure
  or delay in overseas exchange, which affects the scholarship rights.

XI. If there are any unfinished matters, they shall be handled in accordance with the relevant laws and regulations
   and the announcement of the Office of International Affairs.

College-level and department-level exchange students: Please submit the application forms to Mr. Chiu at College of Liberal Arts
School-level exchange students: Please submit to Ms. Chang at Office of International Affairs
