This scholarship is based on the agreements between universities in Taiwan and Japanese universities, graduate schools, junior colleges, and colleges of technology for student exchange. The Japan-Taiwan Exchange Association (hereinafter referred to as the Association) hopes to expand the exchange of students between Japan and Taiwan and to improve the education and research standards of both countries by providing financial support for short-term exchange students. We also aim to promote mutual understanding and goodwill
In addition, the Japanese Studies category was established to promote the use of Japan as a research subject in Taiwan. This category supports students who have started their research in the humanities and social sciences of Japan as their research target, and who have completed a short-term exchange program and have obtained a degree with a thesis on their research in Japan.
