Scholarship Application of Rotary of Taipei Metro East for 2014

I. In order to promote the spirit of Rotary service to the community and to encourage and assist outstanding students to work hard and complete their studies successfully, the Rotary of Taipei Metro East has established this scholarship management and application policy.

II. The source of the scholarship shall be 80% of the annual balance of the Rotary of Taipei Metro East. The amount of the annual scholarship shall be NT$300,000, with any to be made up of the shortfall from the Club Service Development Fund.

III. In order to manage the scholarship, the Board of Directors of the club may set up a Review Committee, which is convened by the current President of the club, and appoint two members (three in total). All of whom are non-represented, to perform related matters.

IV. Applications for scholarships must meet the following two requirements.
 1. The applicant is a university student or above, and has the fact that his or her family is under poverty line.
 2. Applicants must have an overall academic average of 80 or higher or be ranked in the top 20% of their class, have a Conduct Grade of 80 or higher, and have a physical education score of 75 or higher (except for those who are exempt) in the previous academic year to apply.
 3. The applicant must be the student in Department of Japanese Language and Literature.

V. The amount of scholarship is as follows.
 1. Each high school/vocational high school student will receive a scholarship of NT$10,000 and a certificate for each academic year.
 2. Each undergraduate student will be awarded with a scholarship of NT$20,000 and a certificate for each academic year.
 3. Each graduate school student will award a scholarship of NT$30,000 and a certificate for each academic year.

VI. Applications for scholarships will be accepted once per academic year. Application method
(1) Scholarship announcement period: July 16th to August 11th.
(2) Duration for Application: July 16th to August 11th before 12:00 at noon.
(3) Applicant should submit the following documents.
 1. Download the application form the website of Rotary of Taipei Metro East http://www.rotary-me.org.tw)and fill it out.
 2. A copy of the autobiography (life description) (500 words).
 3. Provide any of the following information.
  (1) A certificate of Low-income households from the township or city office (must include the student's name).
  (2) Proof of annual income information of the same household and children of the same household.
  (3) A recommendation from a credible social welfare agency or public welfare organization stating that the applicant is a family member who has suffered a sudden change or the provider of the family's main financial resources has been involuntarily unemployed and may not be able to complete the registration.
   4. A copy of the household registration for the entire household within three months.
   5、The original transcript of the previous academic year (the ranking of the class (department or institute) must be indicated).
   6. Photocopies of the front and back of the student ID card and Identity card.
   7. Copies of other supporting documents for outstanding performance: e.g., graduate students may attach copies of seminar or journal publications, proof of acceptance of submitted articles or research projects, etc.
4. Application procedure: Applicants should prepare the documents mentioned above and submit it to the Office of Department of Japanese Language and Literature of NTU within the application period. Incomplete or false application information will not be accepted.

Please submit the application form and related information to the department office by 12:00 on August 11th (Mon) for centralized delivery by the department office.
