The application of "NITORI International Scholarship" for academic year 2015 starts on 6/15 (deadline on 7/3I. Eligibility

(1) Target Applicants
All undergraduate students in their third year or above and master or doctoral students who have not received any scholarship from the Nitori International Scholarship Foundation, are of good conduct, have Japanese language skills equivalent to or above the JLPT N2 level, and meet one of the following qualifications are eligible to apply.

(2) Qualifications:
1. Graduate students who have written a master's or doctoral dissertation related to Japanese studies (language is not required).
2. Majors, double majors, and minors in Japanese.
3.Those who have taken at least five courses in the Japanese Studies Program at the University.


II. This scholarship will be awarded to 30 students with a maximum amount of NT$100,000 each and a certificate.


III. Application Procedures.

  (1) Fill out an application form for the "National Taiwan University NITORI International Scholarship".
  (Please download it from the website of the Center for Japanese Studies).
  (2) Submit the transcripts of previous years (including the first and second semesters of the academic year 2012).
  (3) Submit a certificate of passing the Japanese Language Proficiency Test.
  (4) Applicants with qualification 1 must submit a letter of recommendation from their supervisor.
  (5) Applicants with qualification 3 must complete the Japanese Studies Course Record Form.
  

IV. All documents for review should be sent by registered mail to the Center for Japanese Studies, National Taiwan University, No. 1, Sec. 4, Roosevelt Road, Daan District, Taipei City 10617, Taiwan, with the envelope marked "Application for NITORI International Scholarship, National Taiwan University". Please also send electronical file to the Center for Japanese Studies at ntucjs@ntu.edu.tw. The subject of the letter should be: Name_National Taiwan University NITORI International Scholarship Application.


V. The Director of the Center for Japanese Studies in the College of Liberal Arts, together with the Nitori International Scholarship Foundation, will form a selection committee to determine the list of candidates after the written review and interview. If there are no suitable candidates, the list will be left vacant.


VI. The important schedule is as follows.
(1) Announcement time: May 5.
(2) Receipt of submissions: June 15 to July 31 (postmarked by the date will be the proof).
(3) Results: The results will be announced on the website of the Center for Japanese Studies at the end of September.
(4) Awarding method: The President of the University, the Dean of the Faculty of College of Liberal Arts, and the representative of the "Bird-like International Scholarship Consortium" will jointly present
  Award: The President of the University, the Dean of the Faculty of Arts and Letters, and the representative of the Nitori International Scholarship Foundation will award the scholarship and certificate to the candidates.
(5) Pre-scholarship payment: October.
(6) Submission of academic performance form: By the end of March of the following year.
(7) Post-scholarship payment: April of the following year.
