Scholarship
National Taiwan University Hope and Sail Scholarship for The Academic Year 2021/2022

I. Application Date: From now until February 20, 110 (Sat).

II. Application Location: Office of College of Liberal Arts .

III. Eligibility: Students who have passed the selection process of exchange students and are expected to go abroad for one semester and one academic year (excluding in-service and dual degree students) in the academic year 2021 and meet any of the following criteria:
(a) Economically disadvantaged students (eligible for the following categories)
(a) Economically disadvantaged students (either of the following two categories is acceptable)
(1) Students with government-issued certificates for low-income, low-middle income, and special circumstances families.
2. The total household income (NTD) meets the following requirements.
(1) The total annual household income does not exceed $800,000.
(2) The annual household interest income does not exceed $10,000.
(3) Family income from profits does not exceed $50,000 per year.
(2) Culturally disadvantaged students.
(1) No one in the family has attended college for three generations, e.g., none of the student's great-grandparents, grandparents, or parents have attended college.
2. New residents and their children.
3. Aborigines.
4. Those who meet any of the above three categories, and the total income of the family (NTD) must also
The following requirements must be met
(1) Total annual household income does not exceed $1.2 million.
(2) Household interest income does not exceed $10,000 per year.
(3) The family income from profits does not exceed $50,000 per year.
(3) Students who are not R.O.C. nationals and have a certificate of cold weather/low-income household/tax exemption certificate issued by the government agency in the year of their nationality.
 
IV. Scholarship quota: Faculties will select exchange students from faculties, departments, institutes, and centers that are economically and culturally disadvantaged, and prioritize up to three students, one for regular admission and two for reserve admission.
 
V. Scholarship amount: According to the National Taiwan University's Hope Flight Scholarship Award Table, the country of the exchange school not listed in the table will be determined separately by the International Office.
 
VI. Scholarship Requirements.
(1) Each student may apply for more than one scholarship to study abroad at the same time, but only one scholarship may be received.
(2) If a scholarship is offered by the school of admission, only the scholarship of that school will be accepted; if the amount of the scholarship is higher than the scholarship of that school, the student must hold the relevant scholarship.
If the amount of the scholarship is higher than the scholarship of the school, the difference will be made up by the scholarship with the relevant proof.
(3) Priority of scholarship recipients.
1.The scholarship will be awarded to the student who has been accepted by the school.

4.Scholarship for exchange students from National Taiwan University, and Hope and Sail Scholarship from National Taiwan University
 
VII. Obligations of the Awarded Students.
(1) The recipient student and his/her guarantor shall complete the administrative contract with the school one month before going abroad and shall abide by the provisions of the contract; if the contract is not signed, he/she will not be able to receive the money.
(2) Within three months of the start of the exchange period, the recipient student must submit a study and living guide for the exchange to the donor through the school.
(3) During the study period at the accepted school, the recipient must participate in the overseas education exhibition organized by the school to actively promote NTU and its various student exchange programs.
At the end of the exchange period, students are also required to participate in the National Taiwan University Overseas Education Exhibition to introduce their study schools and share their overseas learning experiences.
(4) Within two months after the end of the exchange period, the awarded students must submit a report on their study experience, official course records/transcripts and other necessary documents for verification. If the scholarship is not submitted, the scholarship should be returned to the University in full within three months after the end of the exchange period.
(5) If a student who has been awarded a scholarship withdraws from school, drops of courses, does not return to his/her home country to complete his/her studies, or returns to his/her home country early, the scholarship received shall be returned to the University in full within two months after the end of the exchange period.
(6) If the student does not receive permission to enter the university or fails to enter the university on time, the scholarship admission status will be cancelled and cannot be retained.
 
VIII. In case of natural disasters, war, strikes, unrest, epidemics, and other force majeure or non-accountable reasons, the International Affairs Office has the right to deal with the situation in case of failure or delay in overseas exchange, which affects the scholarship entitlement.
 
IX. If there are any unfinished matters, they shall be handled in accordance with the relevant laws and regulations and the announcement of the Office of International Affairs.
