Graduate Courese

The total credits required for graduation from this department are 32 (excluding the master’s thesis). Students need to choose either Japanese Literature (including Japanese Culture) or Japanese Linguistics as their major, and the other as their minor. The major field requires at least 16 credits from the department’s courses, and the minor field requires at least 8 credits. Students majoring in Japanese Literature must take at least 12 credits of Japanese Literature Courses, and those majoring in Japanese Culture need to take at least 12 credits of Japanese Culture courses.

The maximum credits number for each semester is 10.


All courses are elective, with Japanese as the primary language of instruction and Chinese as the auxiliary language.
