Regulations of Prerequisite Courses of Second Foreign Languages for High School Students and Waiver of Prerequisites
  • Students who have taken Prerequisite Courses of Second Foreign Languages for High School Students are not allowed to waive the credits in DJLL (including Japanese (1)(2), Japanese (I) (1)(2), Japanese (II) (1)(2) and Japanese (III)).
  • Students who have passed JLPT either Level 4 in old system and N5 in New system, or“Second Foreign Language Proficiency Test-Basic” can apply to waive the credits of Japanese (I) (1) and (2) in totally 6 credits (which means to skip to Japanese (II))
  • Students who have passed JLPT either Level 3 in old system or N4 in new system can apply to waive the credits of Japanese (II) in totally 6 credits (which means to skip to Japanese (III)).
  • For those who would like to skip courses, please provide relevant proficiency certificate to the teacher in the class that you wish to endorse.
Regulations of Students from Other Departments Taking Required and Elective Courses in DJLL
  • Courses in our department are only open to students taking minor or double major in DJLL. Students minor in Japanese Language and Literature are not allowed to take the required courses that are not on the list of Regulations of Minor Programs.
  • Students from other majors are allowed to take elective courses in DJLL as long as the instructors agree to the endorsement.
