Master Degree Program
Introduction

The Department of Japanese Language and Literature established its Master's degree program in 2003, continuing and implementing the educational goals of the undergraduate program to cultivate professionals with expertise in the Japanese language and international perspectives. Students in Master Degree Program can choose Japanese linguistics (including Japanese language education) or Japanese literature (including cultural aspects of humanities) as their professional research field based on their personal interests and research plans. Through in-depth study of various related courses during the first and second year of the program and the reading of relevant literature in their free time, they gradually develop their own professional research framework based on their research interests. Under the guidance of their advisors, they lay the foundation for their independent thinking and research innovation and ultimately complete their master's thesis.

In addition, to encourage Master's students to actively participate in international academic exchanges and enhance their research abilities, they can apply for short-term exchange programs established by our school's sister schools in many well-known universities in Japan. Our department also invites many Japanese scholars to give academic speeches or intensive lectures every year to enrich the absorption of relevant professional knowledge and expand their academic horizons.

The department's teachers also lead Master's students to participate in international academic seminars at famous universities abroad every year to present their research results, gather scholarly opinions, and exchange academic research with local scholars and students. Through the opportunity to present their individual research results, they receive guidance and suggestions from overseas scholars, strengthening the depth and breadth of their research.
